British racer Rob Huff knows firsthand how difficult it can be to hold onto a coveted lead in a race. A talented and achieved racer, Huff won the title of 2012 World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) but is having a difficult time holding onto his championship status during the 2013 WTCC in Shanghai. He has recently been named OCC LASIK’S official ambassador and is also an official ambassador for Newmarket Racecourses. He respects both brands is striving to bring them recognition by racing to the best of his abilities.

Ups and Downs

While Huff strives to showcase his racing expertise and prove to be a successful ambassador for OCC LASIK and Newmarket Racecourses, he has experienced a few ups and downs during his racing career. He has maintained a history of impressive racing finishes with WTCC since they first began in 2005, but 2013 has proven to be a more challenging year for him so far. A series of events that have occurred during the 2013 WTCC have left him low on the leaderboard in seventh place. However, there are four more races remaining in the 2013 WTCC so he still has a chance to improve his position on the leaderboard if he does well in Macau and Shanghai.

Second Chances

Although his current position in the 2013 WTCC is not ideal, Huff remains optimistic and thinks that he can do better at the Shanghai International Circuit on the 2nd and 3rd of November. Perhaps the impressive racetrack that was inaugurated in 2004 will hold some luck for the talented racer and will help him make his way back up to a more respectable position on the leaderboard. His Munnich Motorsport ALL-INKL.COM SEAT Leon is certainly capable of propelling him to a decent position on the points table if he drives a good race.

In regard to his 2013 race so far, Huff stated that his results have been pretty average and lamented that he has run into some bad luck during this race, including experiencing some mechanical failures. He goes on to say that he recognizes his most recent race finishes are certainly not representative of his history and potential and that he plans to turn things around in Shanghai. He alludes to the fact that he had a very solid race in Shanghai during the 2012 race and that he thinks he can once again turn the tables around and compete for a winning spot even though he is racing in very different equipment from last year’s race.

Huff has stated that his main goal is to bring himself back to a championship position on the leaderboard before the racing season finishes out in Macau.
